Parents’ Pockets Help First-Time Buyers
A record number of young home buyers are relying on financial help from their parents to purchase their first property. About 80% of under 30s used money from their parents to help buy a home in April according to the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML). First-time buyers are struggling to meet the large deposits that most banks and building societies require.
